The Acne Spring/Summer preview from Paris Men’s fashion week is absolutely perfect, styled with a 1970’s flare that is often imitated but nearly always badly executed - this is done just right. The shirt collars alone are enough to make me fall in love, this teamed with mint cable knits and a muted colour palette brings colours usually saved for autumnal wear into the brighter months serving as a perfect contrast to shades favored by some. The neutral colour matching is done with style and perfection, the blazers teamed with the ‘too short’ trousers from the apposing matching suit injects the summer vibe into the collection whilst stopping it from seeming too formal. Probably the most important thing however, it is all incredibly wearable! And I would wear it all, but if this is a taste of the summer months I’m going to need a much bigger wardrobe.
As much of a fan of the winter months as I am (it means snug, warm peacoats and wooly hats) the Dr Martens Spring/Summer collection for 2012 has got me aching for the sunshine to hurry and return.
Deciding to embrace all things dandy and delicate with this collection, they have certainly succeeded using patterns usually reserved for their female line it’s full of floral prints and pastel shades and as far as I’m concerned is absolutely perfect. I’m just wishing I could find a pair of those pale blue floral shoes in my stocking christmas morning, but I guess I’ll have to wait.
The amazing pop pastel outfits on the catwalk of Davidelfin’s Spring/Summer 2012 show have really caught my eye recently purely for their incredible scream for attention.
I’m loving the use of clashing shades resulting in the entire collection looking like a mixup in Pantone’s ‘Pastels and Neons’ swatch library - but working absolutely brilliantly. Along with the timeless combination of classic cuts and bright colours, it is dandy with an edge that leaves it brimming with personality.
This being said while I am rather fond of some of the shirts on show most of the collection I could not see myself actually wearing. Though I’d love to see someone else working these incredible colours!
