• One Month Outfits – Edition 2

Colour is something that is quite dominant in my wardrobe but there are days when monochrome takes over,  and I think I must have been in a monochrome mood these past four days.
My day job’s uniform is a black and white so it is natural for me to have a lot of monochrome in my wardrobe but I’m a big believer that clothes don’t have to be colourful to be interesting and it’s always a nice challenge to add a bit of personality to a plain black t-shirt. I like to find plain clothes that have a quirky element to them – the white shirt with black floral pattern collar I picked up from Spinns on my latest trip to Tokyo is a good example of this and I’ve been wearing it a lot!

What is your favourite monochrome outfit to wear?

  • Geo F. Trumper Soft Shaving Cream – A Scent for Everyone

I absolutely love shaving creams with a soft lather, I’ve tried all sorts of kinds of shaving products from foams, to lotions and creams with varying degrees of success but one of my favourites has always been the Soft Shaving Cream by Geo F. Trumper it’s nice and softening with a glycerin base and goes on really well especially when applied with a shaving brush. The brand itself always stays true to it’s barber shop roots with various products aimed at the well groomed gent, so when The Hut asked if I wanted to try some of the different fragrances of shaving cream I couldn’t refuse, and there really is a scent for everyone!

Violet and GFT (a classic men’s herbal fragrance with citrus notes) are probably my favourite of the scents, having already owned the Rose and Almond before (which are both amazing) but with the days getting warmer I’ve been trying out the Coconut Oil fragrance which has the perfect summer scent, just like a cocktail on the beach!

  • One Month Outfits – Edition 1

Danny wears Spinns, Cheap Monday ASOS & Tado

Everyday style is something that is very important to me, I feel its a part of who I am to want to express myself through what I choose to wear on a daily basis and more importantly to have fun with my style, it seems however that more often than not I am left without a coat in the rain or under a few layers or knitwear when the sun is shining but that’s all part of the adventure and if I’m honest I’ve never been great at dressing for the right weather, instead I dress for how I’m feeling that day which to me makes much more sense. Rain can be easily avoided, not feeling like yourself is like a cloud that hangs over you all day.

I came across a feature recently in one of my favourite Japanese men’s magazines Popeye that showcased the entire month of someone’s day to day outfits – it absolutely fascinated me. So much of the fashion that we see in magazines these days is often staged but there was an honesty in this feature – simply showing the casual everyday wear of the subject. It was like a peek into their daily lifestyle, a look at how they were feeling that day.
Inspired to create my own record of daily outfit choices this is the first four days of May, consider this your very own peek into my daily adventures and how I express myself through what I wear. From feeling casual & twee to feeling in love with the city it’s going to be interesting to see how the rest of the month turns out!

What have you been wearing so far this month?
